What customers say?

“ Went on 16/10/25. The cafe couple are super sweet and welcoming. The weather was very sunny and hot but the uncle still stood at the door to welcome us in and also waved at us goodbye. The place is very cozy and decorated with drawings left by previous customers. Ordered the fruit tea and it was very refreshing on such a hot day. As it was not very busy, the owner chit chatted with us and shared with us the history of the village (coal mine) and encouraged us to go visit the coal mine museum (which we did). They go to taipei every week to stock up on ingredients hence the drinks are slightly on the higher range, but definitely not overpriced. Highly recommended! ”

“ I visited this cafe a couple days ago on my last day visiting Taiwan. It was pouring heavily in Houtong and I had lost my umbrella earlier that day :c Luckily the uncle running the store opened the door and let me in! It was quiet due to the rain but it was very cozy and relaxing inside. I had a matcha basque cheesecake and chamomile tea which was perfect to match the weather. the view outside the window was also perfect since I could admire the green mountains outside. The tea came with cookies which was a great surprise as it was extremely delicious. I wish I had asked where he got them from. The cheesecake was also really good and he was even kind enough to tell me that I could have a refill of my teapot. When I had to leave for the train, the uncle let me borrow an umbrella and had even hand drawn a map of a shop nearby the station to return it. He was very kind and I was very touched by his hospitality. The shop even had lots of cat and Houtong related souvenirs which was great! Overall, it was a great place to rest and appreciate the scenery whilst enjoying sweet treats. Thank you so much for having me :) ”
